Can Jo Consortium

The simplest little resonator instrument of all. Please add links to plans, photos of your canjos and ideas you've found that make the most of this diminutive instrument. (The image is a temporary placeholder, I'll replace it any day now!)

Don't know if the group is still active, but I was wondering if anyone had a Canjo Tab for How Great Thou Art?

Off work early, had some time to leisurely shape a neck. Poplar, 18.5” scale, shaped with one file & a handful of different sandpaper. Ebay says my tins should arrive at the end of the week, just in time?

Anybody tried building a hamdolin? Just found this article, pity these ham cans are a bit harder to find in the UK, (well, in Shropshire anyway) http://www.motherearthnews.com/diy/build-your-own-mandolin-zmaz85zs...

The 6.5 fret is a split fret where the second string is tuned to a 5th, the main string has the 6th fret a whole step above the 5th fret, the second string has the 6th fret only a half step above the 5th fret, so that all the frets are notes in whatever key the open strings are tuned in.  for a single string its not an issue and put it a whole step above the 5th.

Any chance of a sound sample Battmann? I have thought about trying something similar with different cans and guitar shapes... 2 strings even (can't bring myself to only do one string yet).
