Maybe you could supply some pics? It may be just a set up issue, hard without a visual?

Sounds like you have it set up with E,A,D strings? I recommend A,D,G strings for GDG tuning? You’ll have less tension on the bigger string since you’re tuning it down a whole step to G? If the big string is an E, then you’re tuning it up a step & a half to G, that’s where that tension is coming from?

String sizes messured with venier callipers low G .047inch. D string .031 inch G string 019 inch not sure how to add pictures.

how long have you been playing? were you a guitar player before you started on CBG ?

fret size shouldn't make that much of a difference in your ability to play a guitar. if you

are new to playing guitars in general, give yourself time to be able to play properly.

just keep playing and it will come.

Yes, I agree with Slim, I’m playing a cbg with string tie frets, which are way lower than 2mm with no problems? Here’s how to post a pic, like I said, it might be a set up issue? You might want to check out one of the action set up videos over at Glenn Watt & Del Puckett YouTube channel?

My frets are only 1mm high. I can't get a page up resembling the one shown I am only using my phone for internet.

I’m also using a phone? Screen is same for me whether iOS or Android? You may try refreshing the page? Is your action high above the frets, that might be your problem, that’s why I prompted a pic, usually easier to spot the problem if we can see it?

I set my hieght of strings using playing cards 3 cards at nut fret and 7cards at 12th fret.

Doesn’t look like the action is too high, but the strings look like they’re in a little deep in the nut? I like to put some back angle on my necks when I’m using a fretboard, it makes a world of difference? Maybe it’s just a case of beginners hands, keep playing & see if it gets better? If not then maybe it is a set up issue, I’ve gone back through a few of my early cbgs a few times to get em set right? Hope you figure things out :)
