Much work today. First, I didn't like the profile of the baritone, so I modified  it. Glueup successful, but not reshaped. Wings added to headstock to fit the "A" headstock. The level of woodworking I've done on  this is right on my razor's edge.






I also worked on my build of the 2X4 2-string Bass from the plans here.  This is the very first routed cutout fitment I've ever done, and I think I came real close to perfection. Two routed surfaces, the pocket in the body, and the reduced neck thickness fit nice and tight, very minimal edge gap. Right now, it's glued (Gorilla), doweled, and will also get a couple wood screws. The dowels and screws will be covered by the fretboard.   

This whole process of making musical instruments has been very educational, Many lessons being learned and/or reinforced, measure thrice, cut once, drafting tools (dividers, compass, triangles, french curves, center-finding ruler, protractor) are good things, tool discipline (a place for everything) and patience should be cultivated...especially if one has gotten to being a seasoned citizen without them.

I'm on vacation this coming week, and am hopping to finish the bass in a day or two...
