Thanks Richard. The Blues Train to Monterey. Has a ring to it. Book me a sleeper. We could jam in the vestibule or the observation car. All Aboard! The Calli Forny Choo Choo.

Wow Sweetwater. Thanks for the nice comment. I was similarly afflicted with Jimmy in my Art School days in the mid sixties. I know quite a few of his songs.

about 1967 or 68 Merle Haggard did a 2 album tribute to Jimmie Rodgers. when I played it I was blown away with the whole album , but especially Waiting For a Train. Next Day I went  back to the record shop and ordered Every Jimmie  Rodgers album they could get. I was about 12 or 13 then, and  Waitin For A Train  was the first song I learned to play when I built my first cbg  when I was 60. You done a great job, on a great song.

I’ve been hopping trains, getting an idea how practical it would be to make it a train hopping CaliFest from all points unknown. Very peaceful playing Dave, classically endearing to my poor old ears.

Speaking of hoboes, I was tempted to go up to Britt, Iowa last weekend for the national hobo convention.  Maybe next year.  We ended up having family canoeing, kayaking, visiting and good eats.
