This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Cool.

Thank you Paul. To attach the mask to the bench vice rod I drilled holes in each to accept a 7 inch 3/8ths threaded rod. Mixed JB weld, flowed it into each hole. Panic moment, perhaps something to pass on. I put the rod in, but the extra epoxy had nowhere to go, except the joint. Didn't think I was going to get it together, pure adrenaline pushing the parts together. Lesson learned? Use less epoxy or have an "escape" hole. Worked out well in the end, strong like bull, but a scary moment.

Well, my mom did any things, one was a draftsman. Picked up a couple nice soft pencils.

OKAY, either you missed a couple of keys or I'm getting Too Much Information! LOL

I went through some training as a Draftsman when I was a Teen(step dad was a engineer) and I'm guessing your talking about those pencils with the draw string to pull to expose more lead?

JB Weld is great stuff I've used it on many things over the last 45 years. My Dad even used it to patch a hole in the side wall of a engine block. He said they used it a lot while he was in the army. That stuff works and it's reliable.

I was at Walmart the other day and went through the Paint section to get some Elmer's Wood Glue Max and Walmart has decided to quit carrying it. Now they only carry Gorilla Glue Products. Fine, I just went to Home Depot and got Original Titebond and will continue to do so from now on.

Yes I missed some keys. My mom and Dad were both draftsman, I have many cool related items. What i was referring to that I picked up, was a nice soft pencil that marks on anything but does not leave an indentation. And picked up some nice wood clay throwing tools. Perhaps for Dave.

JB weld indeed is awesome, can't even begin to list the things I've used it on. With larger projects I like to use the entire contents of both tubes, have one of those toothpaste winders. Reason being is that I get the right ratio of parts, or mix. Then with JB one needs to stir and mix and mix, then use a different clean implement to apply. cures best.

I don't know about Gorilla glue. Never used it, don't want to start now. Titebond works too good. I use II. III for hardwoods, and if I need a bit of extra tweaking time. Says it gives you six minutes.

Well, it was just an idea. I started a blog, called "Pickups and pots". It's till there, but dormant. You replied with a bunch of good info I'm revisiting now. Thank you. Just keep on keeping on with this blog, it's not your problem if I have trouble navigating. Guess I have to start at page 1 and continue.

I did like your overflow tank. PVC and the associated cleaner and glue that "welds" it together is amazing.

I should have at least painted it.

Call it Redneck Chic.

Well there are a few things on my bench right now. Working on a License Plate Guitar, at my leisure. Been making resin picks, and I have had this idea in my mind for awhile so I decided to finally do it.

A couple of years ago I built a slow speed pickup winder. Since then I have wanted to automate the process. Here it is!. I have built an automated system using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). This system will allow me to program the exact amount of winds, and completely control the process. I set up a micro switch to activate every rotation. I can turn the winder on and off through the computer interface. Pause as needed, and when it hits the required amount of winds it will stop itself.

This is completely overboard for what I'm doing, but I get board.....

Hi, too clever for me.

Taff

Top Notch stuff right there.

I haven't stepped off into the pickup winding world yet, but I want to. I have a old sewing machine that I was going to use for that purpose. It was my dear departed Mother in law's machine and I now my wife isn't going to use it so somebody should do something with it, might as well be me.

I have a few ideas that I'd like to explore with some pickup design.

I've made a couple of 3 pole pickups and one blade type. The poles are very clean sounding but the blade has a bit more crunch to it. don't know why. It's all new to me too. But as the time goes by I will experiment more.
