That's an idea. I do have some small speakers, but does that require tapping into the speaker coil? This may be more trouble that it's worth. LOL

My Uncle in Florida Got these From Fuentes which are I believe a Special Edition/Anniversary boxes.  He asked me to make these beautiful boxes into Guitars.  Challenge Accepted.  Let me know if you have any ideas for me or guidance.  First time with the "rounded off edges" type of boxes. Also he asked if I could keep the top intact without sound holes.  I talked him into at least allowing me to do sound holes on the side.  Has anyone had experience with the sound holes on the side rather than the top?

Hi Adam, yes I have put soundholes in the side. In the topside facing up to me, so I could hear the guitar better acousticly. Of course the sound does not project forward to the listener very well.

Adam, A  drawer pull makes a nice directional sound port .

This may be an odd question, but having the handle face out/away from you like in the picture, does that carry the sound forward at all?

Yup , directs the sound  forward ;-)

The other alternative is no sound hole at all.  You can always add one if you or your uncle don't like the sound.
