This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?
I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.
A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

I have never dealt with a violin before, I just found this one, no labels or markings on the inside. Just out of curiosity, what type of glue is correct if you know?
Hi, animal Hot Hide Glue is the traditional glue used on all instruments of the violin family. Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you. I have doe this many times in the past and always aim to keep the violin faithful to the original makers. Even if it is an old factory made violin it could sound very nice if assembled correctly.

It could sound VERY good. Don't let snobs tell you otherwise. I brought my $300 violin into ST Louis Violin Shop. Going to buy a good bow. The people there really liked the sound of the violin. Until they looked inside and seen "Made in China". Then the snobbery took hold. Snobs never learn the truth. They just claim they were fooled. :) So you say your going to make a guitar out of it? AWESOME!
Be a shame to make a guitar out of that you don't come across many violins with purfling like that.
Hi again, I didn't see that, if your going to make a guitar out of it don't worry about what glue. But if the maker has gone to the trouble of putting that herrring bone style purling around it, it may be a decent fiddle. But it may be gone in too far in many other areas too.

Thank you for all the advice. Hopefully whenever I get this thing done Ill post some pictures. I just dont understand why anyone would spray paint an instrument. It has taken me nearly 2 weeks to get all of the paint off of it.
Hi Mark, I'm glad to hear you took time to get the paint off, its important not to remove any wood as well.
Here's a few of my pics of past reassemble jobs, note patches over the inside of the newly glued seams and cracks, a new neck block to replace a split one and two of a few ways to clamp back together. Jigging up for the back gluing job was required.
Good luck and enjoy the journey.

Taff, That looks amazing, what are the patches you use? I was sitting last night trying to figure out how to connect the bottom piece back together
Hi Mark, the patches are spruce and glued with the grain going across the seam for strength.
Yep, it's all about being creative when doing repairs.
