No doubt you’ve heard me complain many times about the availability and the exorbitant cost of decent sized Cigar Boxes in the Land Down Under, spotted a “Vintage Wood 2 Red Wine Bottle Box Carrier Crate” on Ebay a couple of weeks back, ordered one, unknowing what I was going to get, in regards to quality etc., but was so impressed with it, I immediately ordered another two, the dimensions are: 350mm/13¾” long – 190mm/7½” wide – 95mm/3¾” deep, the Box sides are of an unknown timber 7mm/9/32” thick, and have Dovetail Corner Joins, the Top looks like the same timber and is 2mm/5/64” thick Plywood, the Bottom is also 2mm/5/64” thick and definitely looks like Pine Plywood, the weight is 397g/14oz, I’m not sure how they achieved the enhanced wood grain look?, and at $13 Aus delivered to my doorstep, I think they’re a good value buy, I’m hoping for some good Acoustic qualites from them!, and have just put one on the Bench, so we’ll see what happens! :-)
