This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Hi Paul and Brian Q, thanks for the offer of a wiring diagram Brian, but as I do not throw anything away, I new I had one somewhere. it was in this file full of wiring diagrams. Now I have to make provision in the body for a selector switch.

I have always use the Duncan site for reference, I use Duncan pickups too.

My Strat is going from 2 humbuckers back to 3 singles and I'm using 3 mini toggles.

ON/OFF for the neck and bridge with volume and tone, but the middle will get a ON/OFF/ON for series/parallel and volume only for massive amounts of quack in parallel mode. Tone switched from middle to bridge pickup will tame the bridge treble and open up the middle pickup.

I'm also going to try cutting my own pickguard for it. I'm going to reverse slant(Hendrix style) all 3 pickups. The switching will allow me to play whatever combination I want.

I don't know if this belongs here, but it's on my bench, about a week ago, I was having a clean out in my shed, [overdue], and I had a mini bandsaw that got destroyed years ago, and it was not much better, even before the incident. So, after umming and ahhing for a bit, I thought, yep, wood lathe seems the go to use the useable bits. A quick net search showed some elaborate, some simple methods, I went in between, pipe ways, timber head and tail stocks, I had all ready for final fitment, just waiting for a slow boat from China with pillow block bearings, when I realised the pulleys I had were not suitable for the drive motor, after looking around for pulleys suitable, the best I could find was about 15 bucks for a single sheave and much more for stepper sheaves. So, I  hit the market sites, [ gumtree/ craigs list etc] , had a couple of good buys, BUT, then I found a complete lathe , in bits, for 20 bucks, sold! Got it home on Thursday, made motor mounts etc, spent 5 or 6 dollars on a few fittings, and Bob's your uncle. It is lightweight, so no tree trunks to be felled, but 950mm centres, and 195 mm swing is more than enough for this boy at this time, as I have no turning tools, I have just tried it out today with normal chisels, [ bad decision], all the time I've spent keeping the edges straight and keen is wasted, full regrinds required. Anyway it works bloody well, and now I need to make fixtures and adapters etc, I  even tried a sneaky attempt at metal turning, trying to make a mini reso cone from a beer can, total failure, but raw material is unlikely to be an issue.Footnote:  I rarely get cranky nowadays, but this thing has about 8 bolts in it, counting the headstock mount [ 3/4" unf], but I need 5 spanners/ wrenches to work/ adjust it, some imperial, some metric, easy fix, but ATM, I have no uniform bolts of suitable length to get it back to 2 spanners, and 1 allen key.

Cool idea Darryl. Keep us posted.

I was going to re-purpose a washing machine into a bandsaw once, but never got to work on it.

48v Brushless lithium mini bike/24v kid trike

Cool. Now who's it really for? You or the kids? ;)

Hi, that's a nice conversion Darryl.

Here's another small bandsaw conversion I did couple of years ago.

Hi, more on the Pine guitar Project. As the 5 way switches are not in the box with the other stuff, I'm having a hard time working it all out.........so, I'm gonna buy some regular non active pickups.

I will be spraying the guitar soon as weather permits.

Set everything up for testing too.

The fun is about to start. LOL

Back in 2015 I built my Green Glitter CBG with the Sprite can pickguard, homemade rollor bridge and tremolo with Gitty PBass pickups.(My Avatar Guitar)

The rollor bridge works great, better than expected.

The tremolo has an issue. You have to pull up on it after a dive bomb to get the strings back to pitch. It's not the rollor bridge. I think it's the springs for the tremolo. Instead of messing around with it further, I'm going to replace the tremolo with a Teisco type that Gitty and Guitarfetish sells. I'll have to add some wings to the end piece to have more area to mount too.

The Pbass pickups were separated, wired to a 4-way switch and a 250k volume to jack. They worked okay, but the pickups are low output(4k each) ceramic mag pickups and just weren't doing much for me. I thought about changing them out for high output Alnico 5 pickups(5k to 6k), but decided to try using a 500k volume pot first. Wow what a difference. These pickups came alive and are a lot more responsive in a good way. They act like little P90's, clear when lightly picked, gritty and fat picked hard. If you have any of these pickups and was underwhelmed by them, try a 500k volume pot with them.

I've just finished working on a new project. It's actually a new mobile workbench for my belt sander with storage for my sandpaper and a big fan with a furnace filter to reduce airborne dust... I just thought it would sound weird to say that I have a workbench on my workbench....
