My sister gave me a CB Gitty Tin Pan Alley kit for xmas. I added a slideshow of the build process towards the end.

A nice bonus with a fretted GDG guitar and useable string height like you have is that you can also tune it ADF# for an open D. Then you can slide it and or have easy two fingered chords for the G and A chords. G would be fretting 11 and 32. A would be fretting 11 and 22. One finger Bm (and boogie note) at 31.
