This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

No they're still a fair way off Brian.. There is still all the Paua inlay (I think you guys call it Abalone) to do on the neck as well as doing the inlay on the tailpiece..  I'm also tooling about with the use of liquid glass, it's kind of tricky to get it to do what you want it to do.. Cheers for the thumbs up on that Paul, I really do try and make a guitar that not only plays great but looks good as well.. I just wish I could play one.. :)

I like the look you have with the extra wood on the ends of the CB, will those be stained as well?

Those tailpieces are a bit of a signature of my builds.. I build under the name of Stinking Fish Guitars and the tailpiece is a sort of stylized Snappers head.. The won't be stained instead they'll have Jarrah inlay and partially covered with tinted liquid glass, that's if I can get the stuff to do what I want it to do..

very cool, thanks for sharing

And they also act as weight stabilizers to stay off neck-dive.

Yeah they do.. The key though is to make sure the back of the box is strengthened internally so no undue load is placed on it.. I use a system of ribs and pegs to spread the load so if it cops a whack to the back it's well supported and won't snap off

My work bench is what's on my bench. After a few guitar failures it was time to make something different. I have the top support done. I'll be sawing up the 2x6 legs. Getting them in place. Then all I'll need is the top. Got to go get that. 3/4 ply. Total hight will be 36 inches by 72 wide and 38 deep. I can only go 38 deep because that's all that will fit in my trunk.: )

The table clamp will be made like one of these,

$16 twin screw vice,

I'll also have bench dogs in the vice and on the table. Be making a separate 18 x 18 dog hole table top. It'll go between the clamp and the dogs on the table. This table will have dogs every three inches. Will hold wood ( guitar bodies ) in place for routing and sanding.

I'll get pics of the hole thing when It's out of my kitchen. The only room in the house with an uncarpeted level floor. Well, there's the basement. But I didn't want to drag this thing up the steps. : ). Garage is very unlevel.

I'm liking this.

Thanks Paul. These are hard to screw up so I should be good to go. : )

Up and ran out of time to use power tools. Nothing after 10:00 PM. I got really good neighbors. I knew my garage has a bad slant. But didn't know just how bad. As it sits it's 36 at the far end and 38 1/2 facing. Looks like I'll re arrange the garage and find a more level spot for it. Frame is 36 x 68. The top will have a two inch overhang for clamping all the way around the table.

Got a lot of straitening up in the garage to do anyway. Next on the list is to get the framework for the supports and shelves in place. Going to use what ply I have so I'll measure then build. Then go to the local lumber yard and get some 3/8 ply cut so size. The last thing will be the clamp. I am SO looking forward to finally having a clamp and dogs.

There's always some uneven areas on a concrete floor. Shims for the bottom on the low side?

I just use the lounge floor.. Yep I'm single :)
