This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Lots of people doing craft projects with these things these days. Had to cut a few for my daughter from a fallen tree limb last month(she's a teacher and had to do something for class).

Could attach a neck and strings to one.

Yeah I thought about that!  I have a broken ax handle waiting to become a two stringer and just need the right body for it.

Shape one like an ax blade and attach the handle. ;)

Besides the guitar, there's also a scale up of a vintage control line model, but brought up to date for electric power and radio control.

Tim

Looks nice Tim. I built a P38 back in the 80's, got it all ready for the servos and stopped when I saw the prices for the controls. Sold it in a yard sale. Prices are lower these days. Have fun.

Very cool. Used to do micro planes when stationed in England.

Anyone know what this is?

Correct answer - the top of your next build!   Guess - cover plate for a hanging light or something similar.  How big is it?

Well it will be part of my next build.

It's 11 & 11/16" in diameter and made of aluminum. It's a part of something that used to be very common to households all over the world from the 50's to the 90's and is starting to make a come back.

Turntable platter!

Ding Ding Ding, you got it. This is the second one I've collected over the last year, so I thing the universe is speaking to me. Or that will be my excuse to build the next 2 Reso's.

These things have a resonance that's unbelievable and they have a built in spider bridge construction. Best yet, there's 2 walls. If the outer wall is too large(11&11/16"), you can trim/cut away the outer layer to the inner wall (8&1/4"). It also has round sound holes already in the plate.

Awesome hobby Tim!

No idea what your plat is Paul. But it should make a really cool guitar.

What's on my table? A square guitar! Almost. Center wood is from a door out of an 70+ year old house. All the rest is ply. After gluing up part of it I realized I did it backwards. Would have been a left handed guitar. Only a slight bit of damage to the back when using a chisel to break the glue apart. I'll re glue later on tonight. The neck is the cheapest Less Paul neck I could find. This thing is going to need some work. Part of the reason for getting it. Frets need leveling and recrowning. Fret ends need to be sanded smooth. Nut needs to be cut. May even have to open up the tuner holes for better tuners. When it's all said and done this will be a four stringer. With a Gitty four string bridge. A 24.75 scale guitar with a Fender string spacing. Dropping in a set of Fender Gen 3 noiseless pickups I got cheap. Wiring will be a standard 5way switch with a master volume and tone. The third pot will be a no load ( mod myself ) blender pot. This way I'll be able to have both the bridge and neck or all the pickups on at the same time. With the added bonus of being able to control the amount of either bridge or neck pickup added.

Picture before I realized it was backwards.

Picture of pickguard and three single coil placements. The only thing I wish I would have remembered to do hear is print this out in red. Way easier to see under a scroll saw.

Got really tired of all the setbacks with the bodies I was trying to make. Even accidentally deleted hours of computer work on sizing up and 3x3 gridding 7 different bodies. I have all the scans and drawing i made so it's something I can redo.
