Stella Guitar from my cousin Vinnie AKA Mark Alaniz

I got a nice surprise in the mail a couple of days ago. This nice old Stella guitar from Mark Alaniz in Eugene Oregon. Mark is known on CBN as Downtown Vinnie. Thanks, Mark!

Guitar made between 1964 and 1966 in Chicago, Illinois by Harmony. Cost at that time $29.00.

Stella got a neck crack in shipping, but she glued up nicely and I think she is fixed.

This video was done in standard tuning EADGBE. I think Stella's best tuning will be open D- DADF#AD. She sounds great there and it puts a bit less strain on her. Action is a bit low that way for slide, but I am a CBG guy. I think I can make something work.

AND: there are cbgs in the background.

Thanks, Danny.  It has pretty good string action too.  Wide neck.

Stella found a good home, someone who can fix her cracked neck and strum her in the best of ways! Blowing sax and strumming Stella, if it was anybody else it’d be rated R! Uncle, you stated somewhere that playing CBGs really helped playing a six better, I totally agree. I think it if you can figure these 1, 2, 3, and 4 string contraptions, a six is a breeze! Two class guys, good on the Vinster!

Thanks, Brian.  You had a grey Stella?  I think I remember them.
