I don't' think there is one. Most folks use what they have or what they can easily come by. Rivets and the like.

Pop rivets with the stem removed work great.

Like a lot of guys say "There are no rules..."

I've used long brass ferrules/grommets and I've used a piece of 1/2" x 1/2" aluminum angle as a lower string hangar. Hinges are used frequently for lower hangars. Just about anything you can find that would hold string ends in place would be acceptable. It's really a matter of imagination. 

Google "Cigar Box Guitars" then select "Images" and you will see dozens or more different approaches to anchoring strings.

Find something relevant you and use it.

The beautiful thing about building CBGs is there is no standard. Use whatever you want that will get the job done. A lot of folks use pop rivets, just pound out the shaft.

Well I was looking at buying some from the CBGitty store for a build. Decided to try something different than a hardtail bridge.

I’m guessing it depends on how thick the tail end of your stick is?
