Thank you David L. for the welcoming comment, it is indeed an honour to meet up with you, even if it is only 'on-line'.
These home brewed guitars of whatever parentage are always a great interest to me, but after giving a few away to people, I have come to realise thatchy are not for everyone, although they should be.
I have had two of my production returned to me, not because they are rubbish, but lack of use is one excuse, or getting lumbered with one, and made to feel as though it must be played to death...!!! The latter was returned a little broken to be honest, so I have put it in the attic for a later re-incarnation.
It is a tad too hot at the moment to actually be knocking something together in the workshop. Perhaps I might wait a few weeks until the heavens open and we all get flooded out again....!!!! heaven forbid that happening.....
Was watching the Jools Holland show on the TV the other night, and Dave of Chas&Dave was playing a cbg .It was a 4string with a fairly short neck...looked to me like he was playing ukelele chords but it's a long time since I did my George Formby impression!!! so I may be wrong.
Anyway it's good to see cbgs on tv in any form.
Thanks Bear - not much of an injury but just the right size for electric strings to snag and it kept opening up if I used hand tools. All good now :0)
I am finding the heat is limiting activities too and prefer Lancashire wet and wild.
I am trying to decide between a table saw or a electric mitre saw. I thought my prayers were answered when I saw the evolution fury 6 that does both

Loads of bad reviews though so I shall have to keep looking (other multipurpose ones are too expensive). Why are there no decent top of the range tools going for pocket change? ;0)
Oh and a big hello and welcome to Reg Steward.
Still here also, not done much since March, but now putting the finishing touches to a new build.
Great to hear that everyone's still alive and kicking!
I thought that Facebook might be the culprit, but as I've avoided it so far I couldn't be sure.
Keep on building,playing and posting!!!!!
I can be a wallflower if ai wannasta be!
Sorry to hear about the finger, David. Sounds painful and made me squirm reading about it. Hope that the build goes well. A wooden modular guitar design? I'm intrigued.
Looking forward to seeing the end results of the guitars you're building, Reg.
I'm not building right now but hope to start something with the oak plank I've had for over a year. Waiting until the heat calms down first though. I'm a wilting wallflower in this weather and don't function well at all. Bring back the Northwest rain and snow!
Well, I am still above ground and breathing, so that makes me an on'rabble member methinks...
Ole' Grey Bear as a wallflower raises the eyebrows somewhat to be fair...???? the little petal, but a great bloke..!!!
I am currently engaged on several projects, but space is proving to be a problem just of late, due to a machinery invasion in the workshop. When that is repaired, I have to planer/thicknesser some planks to make the next three guitars to my usual incredibly high standard...!!!!!! I have the timber to fashion the three different necks now as well, so it is simply down to access to the bench.tools etc......!! keen as mustard to crack on, but priorities take precedent etc etc....
Sorry about the cut digit, it does heal, it just takes an eon these days due to age unfortunately.....
I still check in from time to time but I have noticed the numbers of regulars have plummeted. Some gone to Facebook and others to pastures new.
I am busy making a 6 string box guitar with a square cut out of the centre body so I can switch pickups (humbuckers to single coil to active pickups). I got off to a slow start when I slipped with a knife and cut into my right index finger and nail. Serves me right for rushing LOL.
Hope the build goes well for you, John, and Amen to never having too many guitars!
Phew,I thought I was here on my own!
Am nearing the completion of my final project (old age a and arthritis are taking their toll)which is a6,string guitar using up all the odds and ends I have amassed over the years.Although I'm sure I'll find enough bits and pieces to make another when I've finished.
After all too many guitars is 2 more than you have....there's always room for 1 more!!
