Never thought of that, I'm always salvaging small gauge stranded wire, and I have plenty of old strings, Thanks for the tip!

That is a good idea and they are often twisted around each other to help with shielding too.

You could get a 4'x8'x3/8" plywood for cheap, cut it in half lengthwise, double the pieces and use that for your top. Also put some wheels on the bottom of those legs so you can wheel the bench outside for large projects or just to get outside on nice days.

trouble is that stuff isnt cheap here in Australia... anywhere from $45 to $80 depending on grade of finish.  i only have room for a 4' x 2' (1200 x 600) bench. keeping an eye out for some used kitchen bench top from a reno. also back to the dump shop to look for something... trouble there is its only open friday and sat morning...

I really need to order all the caps, resistors, pots and switches for my old Silvertone tube amp. I got a 57 Motorola turntable amp to turn into a bass tube amp that I need to start on too. Just can find a round tuit.

I'll be posting the rebuild in a thread, it need a new cabinet too.

The bass amp chassis will be left exposed and mounted on top of the kick drum speaker cab I did awhile back.
