What's a good replacement jack socket for an instrument with the jack socket mounted flush on the pickguard? In many cases the rout isn't deep enough for a regular Switchcraft, and most of these…Continue

Anyone have the schematic for the Kay Bass & Organ Solid State amp?
nice .. thase are your pups .. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! nice job .
All parts available on eBay. I am waiting on a bridge and tailpiece to complete one too
well , the say , japan used what ever wood was on sale that month ;-)
It's looking good now, I shimmed the neck, adjusted the action, and put on a set of black nylon tapewound strings.
Once they settle, I'll adjust the action again, and tweak the truss rod, if it needs it.
It's a weird bridge, uses two #8 grub screws to adjust the acton of all four strings, and the grub screws look to have been kinda soft and are chewed, I'll have to source either new grub screws, or maybe just two #8 screws with small heads, and file a point on them.
One thing struck me, all these instruments, my Kay guitar, the no name single pickup, the short bass and this bass, all use the same kind of wood for the neck, which isn't like traditional maple, when varnished, which they all are, it has a darker grain?
that's sweet , great shape too , it looks like .
