I regularly play slide cigar box ukulele. Baritone style with steel strings and tuned to an open chord. Sounds really good. Goes down a treat at open mics etc.

This should be on iPlayer for a while - today's One Show had the UOGB on at the end (should have been on longer in my opinion), and they had a couple of cigar box ukes in the ensemble. Never seen slide played on a uke before, it sounded good. I had a go after, it sounded crap.

@chickenbonejohn - The link from the events page on your website to the facebook event page for the gig at the engine rooms appears to be broken.. Any idea how much the tickets will be and where to get them?

David L ,I bought a bag of assorted pots and amongst them were a few 10k pots, i used one with a piezo disc and it seemed to me it cut the 'harshness you often get , anyway if you wanna try one message me you add and i'll post you one..

Hi Jabes,
Somewhere on the site you suggested trying a lower value pot for piezos - I would be grateful to know what is the lowest value you have tried and what effect did it have on the sound?
