Question. Is the charts above saying A, C#, & F are all played the same - second fret with all strings fretted? Confused as I have no experience and am just starting out. One chart I found had F as 7th fret top and middle string with bottom string fretted on 10th fret.  I am starting to think there are charts for slide, chording, and picking?

For those of us totally uneducated can someone provide instructions - and hopefully include how to read charts - for GDG tuning for slide or chording? Think (this guy) has never played music, read music, or tried learning before now so he has to be showed like a ten year old in first day piano class.

Hey Grease,

I made a pair of strumsticks, one w/ diatonic frets in DAd (which I figured out), and one with regular frets tuned GDB. Would much appreciate a basic list of chord shapes for this setup (GBD).

The problem with this chord chart is that the heavy bar at the top typically represents the nut of the instrument. To show chords further up the neck, you need to NOT show the nut, and put a number next to one of the frets to show the actual position on the neck. Here's a corrected chart:

Thanks Jim, i've been meaning to make these very corrections for a while now, but my attention has been else where. I'll switch it up right now!
