Just wondering if I can ground the pickup to my piece of aluminum tailpiece? Oh yes, if it's not a good ground I suppose I could ground the pup to the bolt bridge for this License plate guitar.

On a second note, no pun intended, a bolt bridge on a license plate guitar: lay it flat on the steel plate(1956 plate) or raise it slightly with a nut on the end? I can place the bolt in a piece of wood to lay flat on the plate also. Just wondering about resonance. Thank you.

Yes. Aluminum will make a great ground. If your worried about the corrosive reaction between aluminum and copper use a metal wire to make your ground. Uncoated metal florist wire would work. Usually found at any Wallyworld.

Never made a license plate CBG. Sorry can't help with that.

Thanks a million!

Hi Robbie, the better the contact the bridge has with the top the better the response. One would think that putting a wood riser under the steel bolt might detract from the steel -ish sound, but resonator guitars have a maple bridge saddle on a metal support. I'd try a nut on the other end first and see what performs the best.

Cool Thanks Taffy.

I like to use these for multiple Ground connections & Tailpiece grounding? makes it a lot easier to anchor?
