I started playing this one and was pleased to think I was incorporating some slide guitar sound and style with the dulcimer. The first harp I picked up was a Low E. It sounded low and good to me. My dulcimer is/was GDG. I lowered the dulcimer tuning (same strings) to EBE. That likely cut the volume down a bit, but it worked. Some time I may build a DAD dulcimer.

  • I really liked the message of the song Uncle John! The harp intro really set it up. The EBE tuning sounded great! The visible lyrics make it easy to follow! Thanks for sharing it!!!

  • Thanks, James O.

Thanks, Carl.  One of the first songs I learned on 3 string CBG with a free Keni Lee Burgess video.

  • I’ve always liked this tune. One of the first I learned for 3 string slide.

You do this song justice. That dulcimer sounds great. I like the authentic feel you have in all your videos.

  • Love it sounds good I often lower the tuning on Mine to C# gives the Dulcimer a more mellow tone which I like Nice playing Uncle John

  • Oh, very nice pics and comments, Nancy.  I do a local sharing thing on FB and I am sure going to 'borrow' those.  Happy Halloween.

Thanks, Dave.  I like that low E harp.

  • Excellent Unc. Loved the hand held Harpin the best. The Sun is in the House. Thanks Unc.

  • Thanks, Kale.  I should have called the harp a low E.  (will go edit the description.)
