I heard this old Carter Family song today and it kind of hit me. I lost my mom just a few months ago.Played on a DGB tuned CBG and Iowa Saxophone.Chords and lyrics shown in first comment. Song is new to me and I looked up the chords. The chords I looked up seemed wrong, so just played it the way is sounded right to me.

  • Maddog, yup.

  • Very nice UJ! My Mom passed away a year ago this past Christmas so it does kind of hit a guy doesn't it.

My Mom was born on a New Years Day and passed away on a Christmas Day.

  • Thanks, Steven.

  • Beautifully sung.

  • The 'Little Red Haired Girl-Git."     I sure like that.  Thanks guys.

  • A very poignant, well played, and sung song 'UJ', the little red headed git sounds great, and as they say, play it how you feel it, and I certainly hope my Dear Old Mum will recognize me when we do meet again some day, unfortunately she died too young at the age of 59, and as you and I know, I'm fast approaching the age of 73, so here's hoping when I do Shuffle Off This Mortal Coil, that she does recognize this Old Fart. ;-)
