@ the Clock ,,, Where did u get that FINE looking pony ?? When my kids were small ,, I bought em one outa the livestock auction for $25.00 .. He was a little hellion ,, I saddled him up and tied him to tree and woke the kids as I left for work ,,, Got home that evening ,, they was skint up some ,, but the poney was broke to ride !!@!!! Next oldest girl was a rider till she got way up in age ,, Had cousins that has some sho nuff running horses ,, Julie loved to race em .. She would literally whop em on the hairy side !! Scare the crap outa me to watch her !!

There's some great info about Jimmy Rodgers in one of the blues books I jsut finished reading. Will look it up tonight and report back.

Jimmy Rodgers who wrote this song was a white man writing and recording around 1930. I wish I knew more about him. He was obviously MUCH influenced by blues- which was nearly exclusive to blacks. He 'whited' it up with yodeling. Sure worked. Wish I could yodel!
