  There's a ridge on the wood of the drum it gets tensioned over so you can tune it
  If you had a big metal ring glued to the drum it might work as a tensioner to pull agains.
  
  It sounded quiet good as just plastic but I have been trying
  To get rid of that Tom for ages .
  It sticks out too far for a bracket at the moment so will
  Try and recess it later.
  It's Cut a couple of inches below the tension bolts
  Now have a spare one for my next smaller battery version
  To come next.. Brief case size
