I was so shocked to see that Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of The Cranberries, passed away today at only 46. I've listened to her sing for countless hours on repeat. The Cranberries hit BIG while I was in high school, and I loved them! Last summer I put Linger on a list of songs I wanted to learn on cigar box guitar. In tribute to Dolores, today I learned it. This is a quick cell phone recording with no bells and whistles. I had to modify the intro and outro to make it work on CBG. I have no delusions about having a wonderful singing voice, but this is me with what I got goin' on today enjoying making music with a guitar I built. Thank you Dolores O'Riordan for sharing your music with the world! You brightened my days. I'm sad you are gone.

I shared this over on the CBN fb page, and I'll share it here too. A couple days ago right after I did this song, I got the sad news that my childhood friend Josh was killed in a car wreck. He was 41. His wife is in delivery right now with their first baby, and his funeral is tomorrow. Along with everyone else who knew him, I'm crushed with sadness.

With these untimely deaths and my own recent brush with serious illness, I'm getting the message loud and clear. Celebrate the people and things that you love in life today! Seriously, play your guitars and sing the songs you love today! Share what you love with world. Don't wait for tomorrow.
