Neat idea. If you don't have a grinder or belt sander, a few minutes hand work with a flat file would accomplish the same thing.
In looking at this, I thought of another mod, that involves cutting a slightly larger-than-pickup-size, oval hole in the box top. You inset the pup down a few mm in the box, and use the clips to rotate and hold it in place, no screws needed. This allows the wings to ride on top of the box for support. This would work better for a neck through that has already been relieved below the box top.

But how do you wire it to a jack? I assume that cable comes with a male plug to go in a jack.
