This is how I clamp up a scarf joint. I forgot to mention in the video that I leave the neck clamped up like that overnight to cure completely. In case you're wondering, the neck and headstock are sitting on pieces of laminate flooring. They give me nice flat surfaces to flush everything up on.

Good vid Mark good idea with the laminate and the glue will not stick to it like it would to your bench I put plastic masking tape under,When I make one for I have a bit of lam flooring. That a Guit tip;-)
Probably the best way to get accurate angles consistently, Bug, would be to get an adjustable miter box and miter saw. I've seen sets advertised online anywhere from $40 US to $180 US. Not cheap, but not outrageously expensive either.
