Home made plectrum banjo out of a tambourine and stick of wood. Oh - I used fishing line as frets - http://www.gamutmusic.com/tying-lute-frets/It works really great!. 15lb fishing wire I think I used. I am not sure it was just some stuff my Dad had laying around.
