Thanks Darryl! You know the old saying about junk Vs gold. I have scored some nice items at my dump. The latest is this 16mm speaker cabinet from the 40's that I made a buskin' amp out of.
LOL, thanks UJ!! I was literally pulling out of the dump when this fellow was pulling in with the radio. I asked him if it worked, he said yes. I said would you mind it being turned into a guitar amp & he thought that was a cool idea. Got it home, hacked it, and it had a little hum. Replaced a couple of caps, nice and quite now. Looks to have the original tubes which tested fair, speaker in great condition, and other components all look original.
What a gorgeous old radio and crunchy extra fine amp. I bet you about crapped your cello when you saw that at the land fill. I have two ( and gifted 2 others) guitars from the dump. This beats them.
Mighty fine dirty blues too, Cello.
Has dirty blues and cello ever before appeared in the same sentence?
