I did not put a truss rod in this one. yes it is a 5 string. I only use them in my 6 strings and those are non adjustable. The first patient for a truss rod was filed in 1921 according to Wikipedia. What they did before that I would not know. I would guess nothing so this being an older style instrument I think it will be just fine.
5 string? Do you have to reenforce the neck? And it does have a banjo sound, a little softer tone (but that may just be the recording). It looks and sounds good :)
That sounds good, kind of a mellow banjo sound on this one. I think Dovovan's stuff is built for the long haul, so have fun and play the crap out of it.

I will also say with the fret board glued to the neck makes wood very strong and does not warp very easy.

Thanks, I think it has a very banjoish sound. I will also say that is acoustic.
