Bug.....poke a square hole in the end with a pocket knife then stick the neck in and cut it off just the right length.Then poke a little hole for the big screw on the tail end and screw the tail piece right into the end of the stick. You can get your neck angle and string action all set up like this too. The can isn't really screwed to the stick any where besides the big screw that holds the tail piece the strings pushing down hold it all together really.

I saw this on Curtain Rod Nation! Great playing and sound. You know, I saw the gas can photo and thought it was better suited for a blues axe. Wrong! Sounds great as a strummer/dulcimer.
