  • Thanks Henry.  I just sold this guitar to my brother-in-law this weekend.  :)  I really enjoyed playing it in for a few days.
  • Awesome......very cool. I built an Ashton myself and I love it.

  • Thanks Uncle John.  That light is a round fixture hanging from the ceiling with 6 or so "candles" and bunches of grapes with a center spot on the table top.  Recorded in the dining room.  It was after midnight so I just sat the camera on one of the chairs at sorta a good enough angle to see the guitar then hit record.

I played the guitar last night on the street and I'm still committed to sell it, but it plays so nice. . .

  • Mighty fine 2 night guitar.  (Nearly) Instant Gratification -  GOOD.   What the heck is that light fixture?
  • Nah, they are both in there.  :)  It was Mary followed by Twinkle.  :)
  • acK, my mistake. My nursery rhymes run together any more since I started building the kids' canjos. Indeed, a merry merry tune it is.
  • Thanks Mike!  I rather like my version of Mary Had A Little Lamb too.  I sometimes segue into Frere Jacques.  If I'm feeling real plucky, then I'll do the Alphabet song after Twinkle Twinkle.  ;-).

  • twinkle twinkle never sound so good
  • Thanks Brickdust and wes!

I didn't make it out on Tuesday night because the weather turned really foul in the evening.  Lots of wind and thunderstorms.  Instead, I went to the basement and started this guitar.  I finished it up around midnight Wednesday night and it's ready for sale.  Hitting the streets of Saratoga Springs tonight!

I want more of these Ashton boxes.  They are super easy to build on and have great volume for the size.  This would be even louder and richer if I would have carved a recess in the neck under the sound board, but in the interest of time, I just jammed the stick through the box.  It isn't even glued or screwed on.  I'm really happy with this guitar.
