Thanks! I did try using a modified sewing machine pedal on a previous build to control the speed it worked okay. There's no belt, the speaker is stationary. It fires up into a moving Styrofoam and wood baffle that spins. The amp powering it is a little 10 watt Kustom practice amp.

I sold the one in the video and I built a compact model( non cigar box) with a 10 inch 50 watt speaker that I sometimes use to jam or record with.
So did you ever do anything more with this project?

2 It runs pretty quietly (Imo) I recorded it in mono (left my other mic at a gig) it sounds MUCH better live.
