A cheap, easy and effective way to get low string action (height above the fret board) and hold the strings in place.

Singing part of a fun song by Dan Reeder.

Thanks, Ambrose.  Lucky for me that my relic style builds are pretty cheap.  This was actually a relic rebuild.   The bit of song is from Dan Reeder.  Lots of his fun, funny and quirky stuff on youtube.

Not me, Andries!  If I had a good brain, I would have tried that method long ago.

Simple and effective with a nice tune to finish off your useful top tip. All my money, all my money, will be gone... if I continue purchasing things for my CBG habit.

Nice how to Unc. I just put a nut behind the zero fret and make deep notches in the nut making a string retainer. Then I realized that if I slot the nut to the desired depth for low action why have a fret there? So now I just put deep slots in my nut. That way I don’t get screwed. :*)

Zero fret you cant play with no frets. everything can be done with duct tape wire ties and eye hooks.
