Donovan!  Thanks, Alan.  I used to go to some old country and old timey jams and I would hear old stuff like this and often like it.

Another Fine Mando/Harp/Vocal performance 'UJ', and yet another old traditional song I was unaware of, done my usual thing, and looked for it on Google & Utube, found a very nice song by Donovan with the same name, but obviously not the one your playing here, so I'm still in the dark a little, about the origins of your traditional folk version, please enlighten my ever inquisitive mind ??   :-)

Thanks Ron and Kale.  Ron, the platform for the site is called Ning.  It seems as though it has always been troublesome and requiring maintenance.   But your observation sometime seems true to me.

A lot of our type of thing has gone over to Facebook.  This site has some big advantages compared to FB and also some disadvantages.  We have become a pond that diminishes in size....   But I still enjoy it and the good people here.

Ron, hats and instruments are good!  Keep playing and learning.   I don't have more than average 'natural' playing talent.  But I am way above average in 'want to'.

Great song uncle John. Like you I have a large collection of cigar box instruments and hats. I can't play the instruments very well. But I can wear the the hats without much trouble.

I was kind of wondering about the site myself. Seem like the site operators are losing interest in it, not a lot of new stuff added anymore. I still enjoy and will support it. Just my observation.

Thanks and LOL, Doug.  Good question.  Two nearly identical 'blues hats', the straw 'Gus' hat worn here in the video - similar in shape to the one worn by Augustus (Gus) McCrae in the series, 'Lonesome Dove'.  One more straw hat for outside work, a kind of kayak and walk the dog shirt, a plastic derby and a bunch of caps.

Classic “Uncle John”!!! Well played and sang. Just curious, how many different hats do you have?
