Dan, I cut it with a hand held job saw - reciprocating saw.  The cut has to be accurate.  I say this after messing up one other box.

How do you cut the large hole? jig saw? sawsall? chisel? hole saw? cool thing about the resonators is they fit in a hole that doesn't have to be perfect? unless you have a hidden rosette.
