Original by Richey Kay - 3 string strummer (Dulcimer)

An original composition I've been messing around with. Tuned GDg. Let me know what you think!

Acoustic only so you may need to turn up the sound.

Thanks RTZ, Rob and James O. RTZ: you should have a go, they're fun but obviously a little limiting. Using spruce for the soundboard is a winner though, really punchy tone, and you can hear it improve as the oil finish cures. Rob: at 88, I don't know if he'll be up for any 'new tricks', but this guy's been working with wood for over 60 years, I just think he's quite pleased with this new hobby of mine :)

Very Nice ! Hopefully when your Grandpa hears how nice it sounds and how easy a dulci is to play this one won't just hang on the wall ! Played or not I bet he'll be proud of it and show it off !! Cool !!!

Thanks Capo Kid, thanks Pick, thanks John - some good imagery there, maybe you should name it for me? Antonio - thanks my man, yes that is diatonic fretting, so it only plays do re mi etc... It's quite simple to do. The fret calculator at StewMac has a dulcimer option. Effectively you are only putting in fret numbers 2,4,5,7,9,10,11 and 12 rather than all 12 as a chromatic instrument would have. Give it a go!
