This video has no actual CBG content but I thought you guys would like it. I got this parlor guitar off eBay for $99. There's a cover version of The House of the Rising Sun at the end.

Very cool!

I've got a 1960s Sears Silvertone parlor guitar that I can't play worth a damn. Picked it up on eBay for $60 about 16-17 years ago. I need to mix it into practice rotation with the banjo I'm learning.

I like it!  A classic tune on a very nice parlor.

Thanks AD, John, Nancy, and Uncle. It seems like I did alright on this purchase... even though it wasn't intended.

We love the Parlor, well played Poorness,!like sammy turned mine in to a 4string Tenor ,its seems from reading all these stories of all those giant that walk this road before us thats what they used as well ,so in order to sound like them , its a other step in the disired goal ! no mather how much or little something cost's when you play it ,it  will allway's be a "LONE STAR"Poorness Instrument ! Greeeeeeeettssszzz on Ye from holland !

Great looking little blues box.   Parlors are such a comfy size.  I personally don't care if a guitar has a few chips and nicks.  The action looks a little low.   Could be it needs a spacer under the saddle to raise the action and likely reduce fret rattle...   Man, it sounds pretty good!   Good playing and singing.  Maybe slow it down a bit....

I never caught the makers name.  It looks like a Recording King, maybe their Dirty 30 model.  I think they are good little gits with some fret filing and sometimes new tuners.

Good buy.  Have fun.  Good bye.

Oh, just read Sammy's comment.  Those small body Recording Kings are great for 4 string conversions.

Thanks Denbo, Sammy, & Buggy. I’ve always liked parlor gits. Now I have one.

I do like parlour guitars they come to me to die.. I have many. with warped neck and various states but they play good with slides.. I once took the front of one and replaced it with a piece of dexian shelf too..   and they all sound different... your's sounds great too and probably in way better condition than most of mine..

thought for a moment you were going to state that you'd make it into a 4 string (Baritone Ukulele). My buddy Shane Wagstaff actually did that for me with a Parlour guitar. He filled in the two middle holes on the headstock, converted the nut to line up 4 strings and boom.....I still have it today and it's sweet.
Anyway, loved your video mate, good luck, great purchase. cheers Sammy
