Well....... I just spent an hour comparing your stuff to originals and discovered the Library of Congress with access to loads of old recordings :-)  To answer your question, I think (in my uneducated opinion) that the mix is fine, but your recording is much brighter than originals like this.  However, I haven't listened to many originals and may be completely wrong.

Maybe stuff some cotton wool in your computer ;-)  Keep up the good work, you're turning out some fine 'old' tunes !
