We had one in the front yard when I was a kid.  It was a big one and the core was filled a combo of dead PBR, Matt's and Hamm's cans in the 12 and 16 oz variety.  My sister and I would occasionally take turns walking on it like a log roll with all the cans jangling on the inside.  Fun.  We enjoyed many a redneck cocktail hour with cheap hot dogs.  My parents had cheap jug wine or can beer and my sister and I drank Hires or A&W.

Yeah, It was ED (BadFinger) and I decided to let out my real first name, but the moniker as primary reference.  Call me anything but late for recess.

Badfinger, you look like the artist formerly know as E.D.   Traditional Red Neck Table!   Yup.  I remember, ahem, absconding with one and Linda thinking it looked 'trashy' in the yard.  I did not get to keep it long, but I honored it with cheap beer and cheap hotdogs.

Bad Finger, I agree, spools are great! They are a pretty cool display and they are pretty easy to find here in the rust belt area.

Thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated.

It's a pretty easy lick to play, just working between the 2nd and 4 frets on the top and bottom strings, take it and make it your own if you like. Just one of thoes late night things that sounded pretty good the next day

I guess I'm not the only one who's considered the almighty spool as a CBG display.  :)  I have 2 spools in the garage waiting to be modified.  My wife wants them for the traditional redneck table.

Yeah.  What Bill Powell said.  He's got some of that articulate.   I got to get me some of that.

I really enjoyed your piece. Plaintive, introspective, understated, elegant. Thank you.

Smooth slide work and a lot of feeling.  Nice vid.   Good job.  Glad you recorded it.   Sleep well tonight.
