Can't get this song out of my head. Going for the Bing Crosby/Les Paul style arrangement. Drums, bass and piano from Band in a Box, with CBG and vox over the top. GDG tuned playing in the key of C.

I've always been a fan of the crooner style and Bing and Les, but I never knew this was the big hit at the end of WWII. It makes perfect sense and just makes me appreciate it all the more.

This was a lesson it singing down low, finding some chord substitutions, and stealing some Les Paul licks. His playing can sound old-fashioned these days even in the CBG world, but there's so much left to be explored on 3 strings when you approach it from different directions.

Play on y'all...

Thanks Eic, Pick, and Nancy - I love the gif!

Thanks AD and Oily.  Postmodern Jukebox is pretty neat and Willie was probably my first intro to these kind of standards through the Stardust album.

Willie Nelson used the title of this song in his song, Funny How Time Slips Away, mwhich was written in a similar crooner style. Try that one next, Turtle; you're on to something good here.

And for those of you who like retro styling so, please please please check out Postmodern Jukebox on YT!
