On a BEG# tuned vintage CBG and Iowegian Pocket Tuba. Done here in the key of E. I=E, IV=A, V=B7
If I needed You ~ By Townes Van Zandt
If I [I] needed you, Would you come to me?
Would you come to [IV] me And [V] ease my [I] pain?
If you needed me I would come to you.
I would swim the [IV] seas For to [V] ease your [I] pain.
In the night forlorn, the morning is born
& the morning [IV] shines with the [V] light of [I] love
You will miss sunrise If you close your eyes
And that would [IV] break My [V] heart in [I] two
She is with me now since I showed her how
To lay her [IV] loving [V] hand in [I] mine
Who would not agree she's a sight to see
A treasure [IV] for The [V] poor to [I] find
harp and repeat verse one.

Thanks, Doug. Will be looking for Buffalo Herd. Hope your group has fun with it.
Back on the CBG, cool! A new song for me, a sad one, delivered in classic Uncle John style! By the way, we will be doing “Can’t Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd” next Monday night. I added the song to our songbook shortly after you shared it and someone chose it tonight! It will be fun.
Thanks, Rick. I am getting to where I can play the pocket tuba almost as well as the Iowa Sax.
Fantastic Uncle! The pocket tuba is especially nice. Great song selection, awesome lyrics.
PS: you must have a warm work shop, That is good. Would be nice to be warm inside working on a fun project and seeing snow out the window.
Howdy, Steve. How is the blacksmith man? Yup. Snowing hard since around 0800 and said to last until 1800. I hope is not too wet and heavy. Will find out after a bit.
Getting some snow here in Newton. You getting any at your place? I did enjoy your video and it made me recall a CD of early colonial music that's laying around in the shop some where. Made three instruments the past 5 weeks and will finish a three stringer tonight. Take care and stay warm.
Yes, he was, Thanks, Derek. I will be sending our snow storm east toward you later today.
Are you going to Callyfest?
Nice cover, Unc. Townes was a true original.
Sounds like a spring frenzy, Andries. I don't like too much traffic, but the rest sounds good. Snowing here, but not too cold. And SPRING is just a few weeks away. Or so the calendar says.
It's BEG# for key of E. That is with a GDG type guitar - fretted for finger chords. The string relationships are the same as my old standard 3 - DGB- also the same as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th string on a standard tuned 6. Andries, there are guys who can do just about any key with a GDG. I do better having several guitars and tunings.
