That's how I tune my 4 strings, Andries.  ADGB ... You have the A/Am shape, and the D/Dm shapes for full 3 note chords, plus the E and A shaped barre chords (although the E shaped barre is technically an inversion, in this tuning).

Hi there James ! seen this before, at the time i was wondering what tuning you was is ,and now i see you mean standart tuning i believe there is only one standart tuning for a six sting that el bee EADGBE

now if you translate that to a 4 string and you eliminate the top and bottom string you get ADGB,and if your on a tree string that whoed bee ADG or ADF# cose it sounds better, so i do not see the standard in EBGD except that the same key's also appear in the standard tuning other than that Nice Playing and a singing Big O ! Greeeeeettsszz On Ye !
