I just realized I posted a kazoo video last Friday and now this one, so maybe I should do that all through July. In today's video, I take a cheap plastic kazoo and convert it into an electric kazoo. This is really simple and inexpensive project. Stay tuned for more kazoo videos every Friday in July.

Ha ha AD. I was hoping nobody saw that. That's one of the problems with these small kazoos. The moisture from your breath really condenses as you play it more... especially when it's a humid as it is in TX.
a bit groose seeing your saliva dripping out of the thing! but for the rest easy does it ,and that you done best! its of course a bit like all the water under the bridge but heck you had fun whit it and thats one of your goals so mission complete !
You are welcome. It seemed appropriate or maybe I’ve been watching Uncle John too long!!!
Ooo. Texas sax. That's a great name for it. Thanks for the idea Doug.
I had my doubts Kale when you started, but . . . you really pulled it off. Very clean job of adding the piezo. The use of the effects was brilliant. I was thinking about using one of those 1/8” jacks on a cigar box guitar because it’s smaller. And after seeing your application, I may revisit the idea. Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to the next installment! Is it going to be some kind of gizmo that lets you play your “Texas Sax” along with your guitar?
Thanks t-belly. Honestly, this is a very simple project and it works really well.
Brilliant. I tried to make one before with little real success. That said I was using a regular plug. The 1/8 plug seems much better if I`m honest. I also glued the piezo on top so it was off set to let more air in. I like the idea of a simple drilled hole much better. I also like the heat shrink tube to keep it all tidy.
Think I can feel a new lecky Kazoo coming on ;)
Kazoos are rather barbaric instruments. They're fun though. I think this series may be more fun that practical honestly.
Good idea and fun. I’ve tried to manipulate kazoos a little without much success. It seems like there’s got to be a way to get closer to a sax or horn sound, or like a harmonica. Seems like no matter what you do, it never gets away from that human voice sounding a “duuuh duuuh duuuh”.
