I tried to work on this today, Daniel, using your lyrics and more.   I am kind of stuck.....

thanks from me as well Richard, my scribbles were a response to Uncle's asking "can you add...", with the melody stuck in my head.......did you say beach?.........

Very fitting your close to train tracks Uncle. I grew listening to them in the distance, sort of a peace to them. Some excellent contributions here from A.D, Dave, and Wow, Daniel! I think your song has strong legs and stands strong on its own. And Pick, send him on down, lots of work and the beach is warm and soothing for tired bones. FYI, I’m banging the like button, but one of the Dave twins put it in jello, hope it works.

I like trains too, Daniel.  A lot of them here and just 3 blocks away, but I mostly enjoy them.  I wish maybe to get adventurous and take a train to Memphis and then bus or rent a car down to Clarksdale MS.  My ultimate blues pilgrimage.

I have to add, John, how much i love trains. we live very close to a set of tracks, but these trains zoom by. I don't like commuter trains, like from here to NYC, but nice, long rides. would love to jump on Amtrak, ride out to Minnesota, up to Iowa, then Canada. Today it costs more than flying. Took a train to Chicago in bad weather, missed my connection, found out why they call Chicago the windy city. We have one set of tracks for a cargo train, they just stop and throw flares on the road and proceed, i'm sure i've seen a hobo or two. might be me soon. better design "cargo" space in my CBGs.

Now the pressure is on, Ambrose.  Good ideas from you too.

Funny, odd, something -I was out for a bicycle ride this early AM and from right close to the tracks came a guy carrying a traveling bag.  Could have been a hobo, could have been a guy going to the Laundromat.,

Good song Uncle J,I guess we are curious to know what happens next and how your song will end.  I guess you could give that poor hobo a meal. He may just tell you a story or two about his travels and what he used to do back in the day...?!
