I don't know. We were not successful in leaving a crisp fretboard. I had to chamfer it all the way.

Yeh I agree with that , I find they jump out when you file them too
What's the trick to keeping them in place as you file and not trashing the side of the fingerboard?

Thanks Paul and bemuzic.

My six year old daughter hammered every fret. I cut the slots. We don't even know what we are doing and found it easy. Our only tools were a coping saw, dead blow hammer nippers and a file. Not perfect, but we are happy with it.

The toughest part is dressing the fret a without touching the fretboard.
