Great stuff! Chickenbone John and Hollowbelly getting Deutschander's to loosen up and not only build cigar box guitars but rock the blues? Fantastiche! Actually, to be a cigar box builder and player, ya gotta be a Renaissance Man- just like Leonardo da Vinci- one of the world's few real geniuses! You have got to do learn how to do some woodwork. You have to learn how to fret (but don't fret too much once you use a fret rocker!).  You have got to know some minimal electronics. You have learn some basic Pythagorian theory (scale lengths), you have to know a little about music (12 bar blues, 3 chords and the truth),, AND AS I HAVE ALWAYS TOLD MY STUDENTS, LIKE VINCENT VAN GOGH (WHO DIDN'T NOW HOW TO DRAW BUT BECAME ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST DRAFTSMEN), YOU HAVE TO WANT TO DO IT! That what separates the boys and girls from the wannabes! The rest is just STRUM UND TWANG! Show some desire, and all of a sudden, YOU are the most popular person in town. This is how it all works.
