This is a handmade solid body baritone ukulele. It has an alder body with a Wilsonart top. The neck is maple with a walnut fretboard. A 9 volt battery powers the preamp, LED indicator, and headphone jack. The preamp circuit is from C.B. Gitty.

Hahaha. I was going to respond about how wrong you are on every single point. But then I realized that you were telling a joke. That’s Christopher being Christopher. Always a jokester.

Thanks Daniel Hulbert, I always enjoy your builds and this is a great one - I have been looking at buying a Pono solid body electric baritone for sale at the ukulele site - there are others available online. I like the innovation you always bring to the ukulele/CBG community (I can't understand what the other guy is moaning about). I would try to build one if only CBGitty would produce baritone necks and fretboard parts for the lesser skilled enthusiasts like me! Keep up the great work!

Sorry, I don't like the concept. I think you should call it a "Practice Uke" because it's not going to be loud enough for performance (I'm sure cranking an amp with it would cause problems). Even calling this "solid body ukulele" doesn't sound right. It's not a uke. I'd give you a more license under "no rules" If you called it a CBG. Call it a CBG with ukulele tuning. But I draw the line at calling it a ukulele. Ukes cannot have solid bodies, even if you keep it nominally "acoustic-electric" by using a piezo. You could even get away with calling it a "solid-body Machete de Braga"; mainly because hardly anyone knows what that is. But it's not a ukulele. I do appreciate the work you put into it and it looks great. Good job on the home-made-mini-guitar-tuned-as-a-uke!  };D
