Thanks for all the nice comments. It was a fun project. Next time I will record it with better levels so you can hear the bass better. It’s all about the bass.

There is so much that's fantastic about this video.

  • your bass
    • the strings
    • the tuning pegs
    • the strings
    • the sound!
  • your choice of song (personal fave of mine)
  • your bass playing (awesome work on the fretless)
  • your voice
  • all of it!

This is really cool stuff, Dean-O, and I never tire of hearing Autumn Leaves.

On a personal aside, a dear friend of mine is a professional jazz guitarist -- professional insofar as playing and teaching are what he does for work but, as many can relate, isn't exactly a lucrative living.

Anyhow, whenever I see him perform solo in a small venue, he's kind enough to bust out jazz standards such as Autumn Leaves, Israel, and Sweet Georgia Brown for me.

Each of them always make me smile and hearing you perform in this video was no different.

Thank you for sharing this, good Sir.

Beautiful Dean. Great mellow tone from your bass and your deep voice. Good to hear you.
