As I Sing (Autumn Busk) on 3 string cigar box guitar
A song from yesterday’s busk in my favourite spot on the bridge in St Ives.
It seemed the perfect time and place for this song. I wish a few more birds had flown over on cue though…
I wrote it about five years ago. I jotted down some of the things I saw as I sung one Autumn day and wrote it when I got home.
LYRICS
As I sing the leaves are falling down,
birds fly up high.
A breeze blows all around me,
dark clouds forming in the sky.

As I sing a boy spins round in circles,
a dog waits patiently.
I feel the first chill of Autumn,
but this is where I want to be.

As I sing I hear a couple argue,
a man puts out his cigarette.
The song I really want to sing
is one I haven’t written yet.

As I sing the leaves are falling down,
birds fly up high.
A breeze blows all around me,
dark clouds forming in the sky.

thanks Poorness and Dave. I enjoy playing somewhere like this more than playing in a pub or something...

Beautiful Bee. Nice place to busk and you you look at ease and in your element.

Thanks a lot John. Voice wise I think I've learned to relax more...probably because I care less about what people think the older I get, lol!

Thanks Digly. The composition was a bit of a fluke. I had my camera (Zoom Q2N) on a selfie stick which was clamped to my busking trolley handle. With no glasses and only a small screen to look at I could just about see that the mic stand was in it and that therefore I hopefully would be when I went back round to it! When I got home and looked at it I was disappointed to see that it was really back lit. After adjusting the lighting though it was hugely improved : -)
